چکیده

We present an analysis of relationships in Gilliesioideae (Alliaceae) based on a combined matrix of plastid rbcL, the trnL intron, the trnL-F intergenic spacer, and the rpsl6 intron and nuclear ITS ribosomal DNA sequences. The results are generally congruent with previous analyses, indicating two well-supported groups: Ipheion plus allied genera ("lpheieae" ined.) and Gilliesieae. They also provide higher bootstrap support for many patterns of relationships. Polyphyly of lpheion and Nothoscordum is confirmed. Increased taxon sampling (particularly in Gilliesieae) and additional molecular data would be desirable to provide further resolution and to allow an appropriate taxonomic revision to be made.

The karyotype of Nothoscordum arenarium Herter (Gilliesioideae, Alliaceae): A populational and cytomolecular analysis

The genus Nothoscordum Kunth comprises approximately 20 species native to South America. Karyologically, the genus is remarkable for its large chromosomes and Robertsonian translocations. Variation in chromosome number has been recorded in a few polyploid species and it is unknown among diploids. This study presents the chromosome number and morphology of 53 individuals of seven populations of ...

Investigation of species diversity of the Minnows (Cypriniformes: Leuciscinae) in the Caspian Sea basin, Iran using molecular approach

The Caspian Sea basin is one of the most important ecosystems in Iran with a high diversity of different aquatic species, so that the issue of determining the taxonomy its fishes has always been considered. Up to now, a total of 297 species of freshwater and brackish fish have been reported from Iran where the subfamily Leuciscinae (minnows) has a high diversity of species in the Caspian Sea ba...

A short glance on leaf anatomy and taxonomy of subfamily Caryophylloideae in Iran

Caryophyllaceae is the fifth largest Iranian plant family in terms of number of species where most of its species are Irano-Turanian. About 30% of these species are endemic of Iran. There are continuously uncertainties regarding the circumscription of genera, and especially because of new molecular and phylogenetic studies that in many cases do not confirm the traditional generic circumscriptio...
